Straffan is home to the Kildare Country Club, commonly known as the ‘K Club’, and its two championship golf courses, which have staged major international events such as the European Open, and the Ryder Cup tournament between Europe and the USA in 2006.
Straffan is also home to Barberstown Castle which was built in the 13th century, it is an elegant 4-star castle that boasts individually, decorated rooms and 20 acres of beautiful grounds. The restaurant offers award-winning fine dining, and Central Dublin and the Airport are both a 30-minute drive away.

Established in 1988, Marie's Antiques and Pianos traded for 16 successful years in the village of Clane, Co. Kildare. In 2012, their Victorian Tea Rooms opened, to provide refreshments and complement a truly timeless shopping experience.
The ‘Cliff at Lyons’ is close by, which is a privately owned luxury destination.
